Masculine Birthday...

Hello again! Guess what?!?! I found a NEW challenge!

New to me anyway...it's the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge over at the Sweetest Thing Blog. This is for Sketch #15.

I have to tell you though - I rushed through this one. At my regular 9-5 job, I have two sales guys that I work for - they are both out of state and are only in the office once a month tops. Well it was one of their birthdays today. Masculine cards are not the easiest (for me anyway!).

But know this challenge had to post by 5pm my time (which is when I get out of work), I whipped up this card at 7:30 this morning!! Of course masculine - no flowers, no bling.....so I went with the buttons! The sentiments - inside and out - are Cornish Heritage Farms.

I am thinking it's not the MOST masculine card I have seen, but 7:30AM? I think I was doing pretty good. LOL
Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully I will have more for you tonight! (there's got to be another challenge looking for me....)

Prizes to be had!!!!

Hey there - check this out!!!

TwiddleyBitz is giving away 11 prizes - yes I said 11!! You need to go check them out! Link the post back to your blog and leave them a comment! That's it...and I know all of you who were out there admiring my butterflies and wanted to know where I got them - well - this is it! This is where I got them.

So go check it out and link it! Eleven prizes are up for grabs!!!

Mothers....

I know you all understand what I am talking about...the pride we take in our children. These are mine...Amanda, Riker & Devin. I made this wall hanging thinking I would give it to my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. Well...she might not get it. I might take it to work and hang it there instead.

It's made from large rectangular coasters. I think I got them from the local Chili's. They advertise Sam Adams on the back! LOL

So I supposed I need to take you through these one at a time. I will even give you a quick intro of my children.

The first one is my daughter Amanda. She is 17, a sophomore and a Varsity Cheerleader. The flowers are Prima, the ribbon American Crafts, and the little Love charm is from CTMH. The rhinestones on the flowers are Kaiser Craft I believe. All the Gingham Papers are actually digital from Funky Fairy Paper Crafts.

The second one is my son Riker. He's 14, an All Star closing pitcher for his baseball team and has a brown/black belt in karate. He's also a straight A student.

Again, papers are from Funky Fairies, buttons are Doodlebug, ribbon - American Crafts and this little CTMH charm says Cherish.
And last but certainly not least is Devin - he just turned 7. He's definitely a character. He has ADHD but is smart as a whip (when you can get him to sit down and do what he's supposed to! lol) He plays soccer and they tell me he's a natural. Guess I will be going to soccer games a lot in the coming years!

His "coaster" was made from Funky Fairy Gorjuss Gingham papers, American Craft Ribbons, crystal stars and his little charm says Sweet!

And that's my brood!! I would like to thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog once again!
Oh wait..I almost forgot - the challenges! How could you think that even though I adore these children and love my wall hanging there wouldn't be a challenge involved somewhere! You should know better than that by now!

This is actually for three:

  • The Verve Project Parade - Celebrate the Women in your life. It doesn't have to be mom - it can be anybody.
  • The Corrosive Challenge - Make something for Mom. Well, like I said - it might end up as a gift for my MIL, but even if I keep it - I'm a Mom too! LOL
  • Cupcake Craft Challenge - 5 different embellisments - so I have ribbons (lots of them too!), charms, crystals, buttons and my Prima flowers!

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog!! I enjoy all the comments you leave me and I appreciate the fact that you take time out of your day!

Pink Elephant Sketch

This week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant was a sketch challenge. You know me - I love a sketch (and a challenge) How perfect! LOL

Anyway, I have been eyeing MFT's Who's the E-Girl stamp set since it came out, and I finally own it! It came in last week and I thought this sketch was perfect to get it inky! Of course, as previously stated - I am not a stamper. So I paper-pieced it! :)

I am thinking it's pretty self-explanatory. Oval made with Nestabilities and the border done with Fiskars Threading Water punch. I think the rhinestones are Kaiser Craft, but don't quote me.

I am thinking it's not bad for getting it inky the first time. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Sweetie!

This card is for Card Patterns Sketch #12. I just found their blog and love, love, love it! I have a confession....I have always been a scrapbooker, and all of a sudden, I am addicted to card challenges! Sketches and color are my favorites and when I can combine them - I'm in heaven!!

Anyway, I assume you came here to see the card and not to listen to be blabber...

Onto the details - the sentiment is from an MFT Mini Set - the one with the cupcakes...I know that doesn't tell you a lot but..oh wait...let me go find it....okay - I got it - it's called What's Up Cupcake - see, I knew it had cupcakes! LOL The ribbon is American Crafts, the cardstock is CTMH. Those yummy cookies were made with a QuicKutz die. It's the first time I have used this particular die, and I am loving it. It's so darn cute!

I will apologize for the shadows on my card. I popped my cookies (nothing like tossing your cookies) up onto pop dots, so I ended up with shadows. Can't win them all I guess.

Anyway, thanks for visiting once again! Hope to see you back here soon. I have BLOG CANDY coming up....

Blue & Green CPS

Since I already had my green and blue papers out, I opted to make another card with them, therefore - a second entry for the Spoon Full of Sugar Blue Green Challenge. This time using CPS #113. I liked the sketch the moment I saw it, just wasn't 100% sure what I was going to do with it. It is sponsored by Cornish Heritage Farms and I do have BUNCH of Kim Hughes stamps, so I might do this one again!

I am thinking this would be a beautiful baby card for someone having a little boy! And I just might know somebody....anywho - here it is:

The stamp is from Unity. First time I got it inky. I LOVED this stamp the first time I saw it - thought it was the CUTEST!! I didn't use the sentiment that came with it for this card, but I bet you can guess what it is...LOVE EWE! I will probably do more with this stamp. As I have stated before, I am not really a stamper, so I am relatively choosy about which stamps I buy. Usually because I want to know they're something I can work with.

As always, thanks for visiting. I might be done for tonight, but there are still challenges out there, so who know? :)

Stamps & Smiles....

So who doesn't Stamp & Smile at the same time?!?!? Especially when there's a sketch involved!! (Good thing too, because I didn't stamp on this one! Unless that teeny tiny Hi There from PTI counts...LOL)

I won't bore you with all the details, but I will tell you that the butterfly is a QuicKutz die that I purchased over at CropStop.com. I LOVE IT! This was my first time using it.

Oh - and see that blinkie up there on the left? The Stamp & Smile blog is having a blog hop! I hear it's going to be TONS of FUN! Be sure to check it out!!

So I am going to keep this post short and sweet! I may be back later...

Caardvarks - Trees Please!

The Caardvarks challenge this week is to make a Tree themed card. Taylored Expressions is sponsoring the challenge and you could win the new Branching Out stamp set! If you haven't seen it - it's SUPER CUTE! Go take a peek!

Anyway, here's my card....the stamp is called Kissable Tree and it's by Cornish Heritage Farms. I bought it when it was the stamp of the month (I think). I then "kissed" it against the Unity Worn Grid background. I blinged it out with pink and purple crystals. Some sparkly cardstock from an Apron Strings Designs kit and a cute little sentiment - "wishing you carefree days" and I called it done! I kept wanting to add ribbon, but it just wasn't working for me. So I left it as is - and most of us know that's usually harder than not.

So - this is actually a One Challenge Card - which is most unusual for me! Oh well...I do like it and think I could send it to anybody for just one of those "HI" cards that people used to send more often than they do now. Now, you would usually get a text, nevermind a full email! LOL

As always, I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by my blog! :)

Courtney's Closet #40 & Color Create

Please keep in mind when you see this card that I have never claimed to be a stamper! LOL

I have been loving creating cards, but I see some of the creations out there and wish I could make them like that, but I am just not a copic kind of girl! Anyway, I do pretty well with solid images and paper piecing and try to limit my stamp collection to these kinds of stamps - not that it always works.

So - two more challenges on this one:

  • Courtney's Closet #40 - If you don't know the challenge, Libby dresses up her little girl in an oh-so-cute outfit and you get inspired by it and create something!

  • Colour Create #13 - this week's challenge is Green, Orange & Brown. So I have a little blue and a little grey, but otherwise I think it's okay!

As always, thanks for stopping by! Might be back later...

Etsy Inspired #33

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge is at a store called Opalescense. It is full of beautiful jewelry and hand-dyed yarns. She's got talent I tell you!

I actually based my card on two items in her shop:

I chose the earrings for the black and the white! I just adore black and white with a POP of color. Now - the butterfly is....well, it's a butterfly and I think just about everybody loves them. Plus those pieces have those beautiful pink beads - my POP of color! Of course, as you view the card, I would say it's definitely more than a pop, but...I'll let you be the judge.

I am not 100% sure I love this card. There's no sentiment, but I am not sure it needs one. I figured when I am ready to use it - I will add one.

***ETA - The butterfly is from a company called Twiddleybitz! They are out of Australia. I got them in a jar swap from a friend of mine. She is one of the DT Coordinators and sells them herself. If you head on over to Sherry's blog - she will be happy to help you if you leave her a comment or email her about them. Just tell her I sent you! :)

So anyway, that's my Etsy for the week. And hopefully I will create more for you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

K is for...

KEEP IT SIMPLE! Now, this is my motto anyway, so needless to say I was definitely "IN" for this challenge! (Not that I say NO to many challenges!) Anyway, I found a new challenge blog - ABC Challenge Blog - and they have a new challenge every Wednesday. Obviously, I stumbled in at K.

But here is my card...

And I do LOVE the way it came out. Which I do say for a lot of my cards, but definitely not all of them. Anyway - the stamp is from PTI Life set and there's not much else to say. I believe the ribbon is CTMH. There's no sentiment on it and because it was literally at 10 minute card - I am thinking I might make 3-5 more and make it into a set to give somebody as a gift. It was sooooo simple and quick!

So I hope you like it as much as I do. I will be sure to go back to the ABC Challenge next week to see what's up for L. Any guesses??

Mojo Showers

Two more challenges for today! I did that last Double Pocket bag, which actually incorporated six challenges. However, Stamp Something had Flowers or Showers for it's theme and I hadn't inked up this MFT set - Rain or Shine, so I knew I wanted to use it for this theme challenge. The sketch is Mojo Monday #83, which I thought was perfect for the Stamp Something Challenge. So here it is anyway:

I must say I really like that daisy paper and the color combo worked well. I thought it ended up pretty cheery for someone who might be "feeling under the weather".

Thanks again for stopping by! Hope to see you again soon...

Sometimes I amaze myself....

Okay - I am a challenge junkie and I admit it....is that really so bad? It is when I make one project for SIX challenges! I think this one is a record for me. So, without further adieu, here it is:
Now, you may ask how it all started. Well here's the run down:

  • It started with Triple the Sketch and Project Tuesday. I had previously done this bag for Project Tuesday a couple of posts back. It was such an easy and cute project. When I saw this week's sketch for Triple the Sketch, I was thinking it was PERFECT for a bag!
  • The next factor was Our Creative Corner - use your favorite color combo. My favorite color combo is black & white with a POP of color. Doesn't matter what color the pop is...
  • This was then followed by Stamp Something - Showers or Flowers. I might go back and do the showers too. I have an idea for that one as well.
  • Scrappy Frogs was also asking for spring flowers. LOVING these flowers!
  • And last, but certainly not least, the Pink Elephant asked for Mother's Day or Mom Birthday. Now my mother's favorite color was always red, so when I was picking my POP, I went with her favorite color

That's it - count them up! It's 6!! (Yes Dalis - that's more than a triple dip!)

Below is a detail shot on the flowers.

So thanks for stopping by. I might do a couple more of these challenges with other entries, but...I am liking that I could fit six challenges into one entry.

A sketchy birthday card...

Over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp - we are on Sketch Challenge #34! Now I say that as if I have done the first 33, and let me assure you - I have not! LOL I actually started at #33, but after looking over Tracy's blog, I liked the sketches, so this is probably going to be a regular for me!
This card is also for Card*a*licious #20. The challenge over there is blue, green, circles and birthday. No need for explaination for the blue, green and circles - I think they are obviously....don't see the "birthday" part? Well, it's hidden, but it's there! It's in that cute little flower. See?!?!?!? I thought this was the neatest thing! Sometimes I impress myself! LOL (It obviously doesn't take too much!)

Below you will find a third picture of this same card. I was having ribbon/bow issues. Wasn't sure if the bow made it too busy - but I think without the bow might make it too plain. So - bow or no bow? The more I look, the more I like the bow, but give me your opinion please! I would certainly appreciate it.

And that's about all for this one - oops! almost forgot - both the stamps are Lizzie Anne Designs. I think (please don't quote me) they are retiring this set and the sentiments in it are great!
As always, thank you for taking a little bit of time out of your day to come and visit my blog. I certainly appreciate it!

Project Tuesday

This "sweet" little bag was done for Project Tuesday over at the Stamps & Smiles Blog. It's their first project Tuesday and I must say I just LOVE the project!! It's this cute little Double Pocket Bag. You can put a card on one side or a gift card on the other...or anything flat really! Cocoa, seed packet...you get the picture! Here's another view of it:

I think all the papers are Sassafras Lass and the stamp is Unity - from their "Be Owl Mine" set. I thought it worked perfect on this little bag! Stamped in Blazing Red Stazon ink and colored with Bliss Blue! Adorable little buttons as flower centers and it's done!

I can't wait for next Tuesday and the next project! You know me - I love a challenge and I love 3-D items! You can count me in!!

As always - thanks for stopping by!

CPS Sketch & More Circles!!

*****This is my second post for today, so be sure to scroll down for more of today's creativeness!!*****

This cute little card is for this week's CPS sketch! I loved the sketch, but when I went to work on that nice tall card, it wasn't working for me, so I adjusted it! :) This is a standard A2 sized card and uses PTI's Life stamps set (I fell it love with it the moment I saw it!) I little glue and glitter for the centers and VOILA!!

On a separate yet related note - does anybody else have spacing problems when using blogger? I seem to all the time - so I think I am going to start bulleting my verbiage a little more frequently.

So - here's the challenge info on this card:

  • CPS Sketch #112 - I loved the diagonal panel and there's a bunch of great samples from the DT - so be sure to check them out!
  • Creative Card Crew's challenge this week was to use circles - so I figured I would use this as a second submission over there. My first one is below.
I hate to tell you that I don't remember who the mfg is on the paper, but I don't - sorry! :( Well, that's about it for this one! Thanks for stopping by.

A lot of work for one little card....

I started making this cute little card and although I knew I was specifically setting it up for two challenges, I had seen another challenge around that I could fit it into - which is why it's a CIRCLE!

So - here's the deal.

  • Color Challenge - The challenge over at the Color Throwdown Blog today was - Black, Real Red and Barely Banana. Not being an SU girl, I made due with the red, yellow and black that I have! And you can do that - they tell you so! LOL

  • Next up - use a circle on your card for the Creative Card Crew. Not only is the card circular in shape, but I do of course have my white base layer, which is a circle, so I figure I am good on the one too!
  • Last, but certainly not least - Heart Hugs Designs. This is an etsy inspired challenge and we were led to this cute little shop with hand made silver jewelry in it. I chose this piece as my inspiration. (see below) And this challenge is also for a DT spot that I am still in the running for! Go check Ashley out - she picks the best shops!!!

And that's all of this card! A lot of work for one little card to do, huh? Stop back soon...there's still more challenges out there, so I am sure I will have more cards and layouts too!

Eat Sleep Stamp...

***This is my THIRD post for today - so please scroll down. (If you came from a link, click on the banner and you'll get the whole blog, not just this one post). ***

I stumbled upon a sketch challenge over at the Eat Sleep Stamp blog. I am a CAS scrapper and cardmaker (for the most part) so I LOVED this sketch!!

This is also a challenge for A Spoon Full of Sugar. They are have a CHALLENGE TO DIE FOR. :) They request diecuts! You know me and diecuts - I just love them!! If you scroll down my blog, you will find most of my work uses a die cut of some sort.

Now the base of this card is a relatively dark/bright pink, but I know it kind of looks red in the photo. This is my first card using my new LIFE stamp set from PTI. I love this set and knew I *needed* it as soon as I saw it. As the card is EPLS, I am thinking no explaination is necessary.

Thanks for stopping by again (don't forget to check out my other posts for today!!)

Recyle x2!

This recycle card is for two challenges - happened to both be the same challenge! With Earth Day coming up, we have been asked to recycle something and use it on your card. In this case - it was a box...I think it was the box my newest Unity Stamps came in, but I could be mistaken!

So...this week - Our Creative Corner and the Simon Says Challenge blog both say....Recycle!! So hop on over pay them both a visit!

The details are simple enough....the base is by DCWV, Happy Birthday is a QuicKutz die from CropStop.com, a piece of twill ribbon from the stash and that beautiful flower! Don't forget the piece of cardboard from my shipping box! Thanks for stopping by again today....be sure to come back, I am hoping to have some creations this week using the digital papers from Funky Fairys Papercrafts!

The challenge is clear.....

I received a message on my phone at 3:38 this morning telling me there was a challenge on the Twiddleybitz DT website...and you know how I love a challenge!! I figured if the message came in at 3:38 am it was really important (either that or the message came from Australia and we have a 14 hour time difference!)

Anyway- the challenge over there is to make a card using acetate (and Twiddleybitz if you have some). Luckily, I happen to have these butterflies that were sent to me by somebody special (Hi Sherry!!)

So here's my card, and I was impressed that my photography skills were good enough so that you can actually see the acetate!

Now there was also a challenge over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog to make a card using the Sentiment as your focal image - you can stamp a background, but no stamped images. Now, I am not 100% sure this qualifies, but here's my entry anyway.

Over at Colour Create, the challenge is black, white and pink - a combination which I obviously love!! I think is a beautiful combo so I had no problem working with these colors - and I do LOVE the way it came out.

Last but certainly not least, Danni's Flutterby Challenge was to use a butterfly and die cuts! The "flourishes" are Spellbinder dies. I am not 100% sure of the name of the set, but I did purchase it at CropStop.com. Also, the main panels are cut from Nestibilites Curved Rectangles.

As always, thanks for visiting! Hope to see you back again soon.

A few more challenges...Darling

This card is for three challenges! As always, there's a great sketch over at CPS and All That Scraps had a challenge this week to use buttons! Also, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge was to use paper piercing on a card. I am not 100% this counts, as I didn't actually pierce the card myself, it's my new punch. I can't find my piercing template right now - I am reorganizing - so I just went with it.

This stamps is one of the Glam Girls from CC Designs. I need to get the one more set of Glam Girls and then I will have them all! (I just LOVE them). I only used one little button on this card, but it's such a CUTE button! LOL But I did get to use my new border punch from EK Success. I saw it used somewhere and knew I *NEEDED* it!

Anyway, that's all for today - well for now at least - who knows what I'll do later! As always, thanks for visiting!
